‘Holy Grail’ of legendary Anthem album art
Anthem, Bill Walker, numbered and signed archival prints, 38 inches by 38 inches. “I can’t separate the painting from the music; music was an integral part of the painting” — Bill Walker, Anthem to Beauty
By special arrangement with artist Bill Walker:
Bill Walker was asked by Phil Lesh to create the cover art for the Grateful Dead’s second album, Anthem of the Sun, in 1968. Thirty years after he conceived this visionary artwork, he completed an expanded version of the painting and released a Limited Edition run of 300 collector-quality Serigraphs, silk screen prints, of the mandala-inspired artwork.
Recently, after a 10 year quest, a cache of the remaining 187 signed, numbered, museum-quality prints have been uncovered and made available for purchase. These rare and iconic masterpieces are the last available prints in existence; the original plates have been destroyed.
Each limited-edition Anthem print will come with a certificate of authenticity signed by Bill Walker and a copy of his 33-page self-penned Anthem Guide.
